Abdul Malik Mujahid is the New Chairperson of CIOGC
Chicago, IL - The General Body of the CIOGC has elected Mr. Abdul Malik Mujahid as the organization’s new chairperson. Mr. Mujahid is an author and producer. He is a Chicago area Imam and the founder of the Sound Vision Foundation.
The other members of the newly elected Executive Committee come from a number of professional fields including law and accounting. All bring their diverse experiences and vast knowledge to the CIOGC as it works to build bridges with other faith communities and effectively represent the concerns of Chicagoland Muslims. The membership of the CIOGC Executive Committee is as follows:

The new Chairman of the CIOGC, Mr. Mujahid, expressed appreciation for the
outstanding work done by the outgoing leadership of the organization and
said, “at a time when conflict is increasing in our world, building bridges
of understanding in our neighborhoods is essential.”
The Council of Islamic Organizations of Greater Chicago (CIOGC) is an
umbrella organization representing the over 400,000 Muslims of Greater
Chicago.
